These terms explain the practical arrangements for joining and attending The People’s Pilates. Please read them before purchasing. The price and details shown when you book also form part of your agreement with us.

The Essentials

  • Memberships provide four or eight session credits each month, depending on the plan you choose.
  • Your membership renews automatically for the same commitment period unless you cancel it in time.
  • Cancel a class at least 24 hours before it begins and the credit will be returned with its original expiry date.
  • Late cancellations and no-shows use the credit. Make-up places depend on availability.
  • A four-credit membership covers four classes each month. A fifth class needs another valid credit.
  • Memberships and credits are personal and cannot be shared or transferred.

1 About these terms

These terms apply to Fundamentals, memberships, class packs, drop-in classes, Pilates 1:1, Pilates 2:1 and other studio services.

The People’s Pilates is operated by Move with Jen Ltd trading as The People’s Pilates, company number SC772007. Our registered office is 179 Finnieston Street, Glasgow, G3 8HE. Our studio is at 45 Mackinlay Place, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, G77 6EZ.

2 Programmes, memberships and credits

New clients normally begin with the four-week Pilates Fundamentals Training Programme. It includes four scheduled small-group sessions. Missed sessions can be made up in other available Fundamentals classes. We may recommend Pilates 1:1 first where that is a safer or more suitable starting point.

Pilates 1:1 sessions with Jennifer cost £75. Other instructors set their own 1:1 prices, which will be confirmed before booking and are payable directly to the instructors.

The current membership options are:

  • Month-to-month membership: £128 per month, four credits, credits valid for eight weeks, renewing monthly.
  • Three-month membership: £120 per month, four credits, credits valid for eight weeks, renewing for a further three months.
  • Six-month membership: £112 per month, four credits, credits valid for three months, renewing for a further six months.
  • Twice-weekly membership: £224 per month, eight credits, credits valid for eight weeks, with a three-month commitment and renewal.

Fees are charged monthly. Credits expire after the period shown, measured from the date they are issued. Returned credits keep their original expiry date. If a calendar month has a fifth occurrence of your regular class, you will need another valid credit or an additional purchase to attend it.

Approved flexible drop-in pack

This pack is available only to clients approved by an instructor and tagged in Momence as an Approved Drop-in Client. Approval normally follows at least three months of training with us. We determine the appropriate class level and may require reassessment after an extended break.

  • The pack costs £136 and provides four session credits.
  • The pack activates on first use. All four credits must be used within two calendar months of that first use.
  • Bookings are subject to availability, must be within the approved class level and do not reserve a regular weekly place.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before a session to retain the credit. A late cancellation or no-show uses the credit.
  • Unused credits expire at the end of the validity period. They cannot be carried forward, shared or transferred, and a membership make-up period does not extend the pack.

Contact Jennifer before purchasing your first approved flexible pack.

3 Booking, cancelling and make-ups

Bookings are managed through Momence and depend on available space and the appropriate class level.

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the class and your credit will normally be returned.
  • A cancellation made less than 24 hours before class, or a no-show, uses the credit.
  • A returned or unused credit may be used for an available class at the same or a lower level before it expires.
  • Make-up classes are not guaranteed and do not guarantee a particular time or instructor.
  • If we cancel, we will return the credit and extend it where reasonably needed so you have a fair chance to use it.

4 Payments, renewals and ending a membership

Payments are collected through the method selected at checkout. Consumer prices include VAT where applicable. Please keep your payment details up to date. If a payment fails, we may pause bookings while we contact you and give you a reasonable opportunity to bring the account up to date.

Your membership renews for the same commitment period unless you email info@thepeoplespilates.co.uk at least seven days before the renewal date. Cancelling a class or payment instruction does not cancel the membership; please contact us so we can confirm the end date.

A fixed commitment normally continues until its end date. If serious illness, injury, pregnancy, bereavement or relocation makes attendance impractical, contact us promptly. We will consider the circumstances fairly and may ask for reasonable supporting information. Any adjustment will take account of sessions and credits already supplied or used.

5 Online purchases, refunds and transfers

If you purchase online or at a distance, you will normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel. If you ask us to begin providing sessions during that period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for services already supplied where the law allows. To cancel, email us with your name, purchase details and a clear request to cancel.

After any applicable cooling-off period, payments are generally non-refundable once services have been supplied, unless these terms or the law say otherwise. Memberships, programme places and credits cannot be sold, shared or transferred.

6 Health and safe participation

Pilates is physical exercise, not medical treatment. Tell us before taking part about any injury, pain, medical condition, surgery, pregnancy or other circumstance that could affect you, and let us know if anything changes. We may recommend medical advice or a different session format before you participate.

Follow your instructor’s guidance, use equipment only as instructed and stop if you feel pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath or another concerning symptom. An instructor may adapt an exercise or ask you to stop when reasonably necessary for safety.

7 Studio arrangements

  • Arrive in time to begin safely. If you miss essential preparation, you may be unable to join the class.
  • Wear suitable clothing and grip socks, and follow reasonable hygiene and equipment instructions.
  • Treat instructors and clients respectfully. Unsafe, threatening or abusive behaviour may lead to removal from a session or the end of services.
  • We may change the timetable, instructor or equipment for reasonable operational reasons and may provide a suitably qualified substitute.

Pilates 1:1 means individual instruction. Another 1:1 session may take place elsewhere in the studio at the same time.

8 Changes and our responsibility

We will normally give at least 30 days’ notice of a membership price change. A change to a fixed commitment will normally apply at its next renewal unless tax or law requires otherwise. If a service change materially affects what you purchased, we will explain your options.

We will provide our services with reasonable care and within our realm of expertise.

9 Privacy, complaints and governing law

We use personal information to manage bookings, payments, communications and safe participation. Please see our Privacy Notice for more detail.

If you have a question or complaint, speak to Jennifer Barnett, email info@thepeoplespilates.co.uk or call 07401 323238. We aim to acknowledge written complaints within five working days and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

These terms are governed by Scots law. The Scottish courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction, so a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom may also have the right to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction.
